What is Cell Site Analysis?

Cell Site Analysis is the process of examining and interpreting Call Data Records, in order to provide information that may be used to assist criminal investigations.

All mobile phones in the UK operate on 1 of 4 networks, where the network provider will store and hold information known as Call Data Records for the purposes of billing. 

The Call Data Records provide information to show when Call events took place, in addition to what telephone mast or cell site was used at that time. These Call Data Records can be interpreted by Expert Witnesses to assist in criminal investigations to show the likely location of a mobile phone at a relevant time.
